Link to the IC thread can be found here.
First of all, welcome to the Summit! This concept was originally designed to have a hub area for all the different physical venues that started popping up in the IGS many months ago. I created a channel in-game (named Yulai III Ground Facility) to guide people to do more in-game RP. It never really took off and the thing died out soon afterwards. But lately I decided to revive the project, creating these two threads. The purpose of my thread in the IGS was for different people to interact and socialize with each other without having to be in a specific venue, and for the random encounters that could happen between people when they were transporting to different locations.
HereGÇÖs the list of currently active venues within the Summit, I have left some out either due to the OPs wish, or for the fact that they havenGÇÖt been used for a long time.
Yulai III war museum, a museum with various different exhibitions that give civilians a better look into the life of a clone soldier. Maintained by Galm Fae and Niina Eskola
Amarr Scriptual study, a room meant for believers of the Amarrian Faith read and discuss the Scriptures. Maintained by Maikyl Metsar
Praetorian Temple Library, a great library containing various records from the Amarr Empire and the Scriptures. Maintained by Templar Twelve.
Kaalakiotta Summit Temple, a place for worshiping and quiet meditation. Maintained by Galm Fae, sponsored by the Kaalakiotta megacorporation.
Second Hex Club, an off-duty bar where everyone can go and let loose for a while after long and hard days of work. Maintained by Jakar Umbra.
PIE Emissary, currently the only emissary active within the Summit, representing the Praetoria Imperialis Exubitoris alliance. Maintained by PIE Inc. and Maikyl Metsar.
If and when any new physical venues pop up into the IGS, I am going to assume they are going to be a part of this facility and will add them to the list. If you disagree with this, feel free to contact me.
Now, in order for this kind of place to be feasible, we need some rules laid out, and I really want you guys to follow them while roleplaying the IC thread, and keep them in mind when in more private venues. I tried to keep it brief so there wonGÇÖt too much confusion, and keep the place drama and stupidity free.
1. No weapons allowed. You are forced to give away any weapons you possess upon entering the facility, and will be given to you after you return. It is possible to carry something small, like a knife in your boot, but anything bigger and itGÇÖs going to get a lot harder. And you absolutely not must have your weapons drawn out in any case, just to avoid mass panic from happening. 2. No criminal activity allowed This facility abides to the rules and regulations of CONCORD, which prohibits you from doing certain activities such as harassment, assault, thievery and other crimes of the like. Please donGÇÖt do them. 3. Troublemakers will be forcibly detained by security Anyone found breaching these simple set of rules is going to be c¦¦o¦¦n¦¦c¦¦o¦¦r¦¦d¦¦o¦¦k¦¦k¦¦e¦¦n¦¦'¦¦d¦¦ detained by the security staff.
To note, you can breach these rules within reason and in the context of the RP, but be prepared to get in trouble with facility security. If you have any questions or OOC comments regarding this facility, feel free to post them here.

* Would pistols count as being "concealable" on par or approximately the same ease of hiding as a knife?
* What about carrying a larger weapon in dissembled form, as hiding a lot of small parts is easier than hiding the whole thing. The facility has metal detectors and other equipment designed to recognize weapon tech, even if disassembled to parts. The general rule-of-thumb is that especially aboard stations and facilities, anything high-tech like a gun would be detected by the on-board scanners. The lower the tech is, the harder it is for the scanners to detect them. Pistols in my opinion are kind of on the edge, use your own discretion.
Hawk-eye Occultus wrote:* Do sharpened coffee spoons count as weapons?
(I have a new-found obsession with coffee spoons). Anything that is designed to be a weapon is counted as a weapon, even household objects modified to be weapons.

Heathen Bastard wrote:My pistols are heavily modified and kept in lead lined leather holsters, under my coat(my formal wear weapon is a decorative sword, as no gentleman is properly dressed for an occasion without one). They're glorified tasers unless I get a direct shot to the base of the skull. Do they still count as weapons, or as more of a personal defensive item(like pepper spray. if pepper spray could have a small bear drooling into the carpet)? That still counts as a weapon, and the scanning technology could still detect firearms, no matter how heavily modified. And really, if some weapon doesn't show up on the database at all when it gets scanned, that's even more the reason to not allow those as nobody can know for sure what they do. In short, any kind of firearm is prohibited.
And a note about knives and swords, be reasonable please. Things like long swords and stunsticks or whatever are still weapons, and even if the scanning technology couldn't detect them, they would be very obvious for everyone to see, and are still prohibited from using. Even if they are only for ceremonial purposes only, they still have a capacity to harm and kill people. And again, CONCORD handles the security on the facility, weapons/items used for self-defense aren't needed.

Heathen Bastard wrote:so wait, a 2 ton war machine(heavy) who could punch a dent in a tank is allowed to run around all willy nilly, but a stun gun for someone who basically works security at one of the clubs is taboo... CONCORD seems to be on crack. I don't think I like this, so I'll just ignore you trying to set everyone else's rules for the entire IC posting forum. I am not trying to enforce a set of rules to everyone, I am enforcing a set of rules in my thread, there's a difference. This is how I like my rules so we don't have silly gunfights and duels in a public locale. If you don't like it, don't use my thread, simple as that. And besides, the entire use of dropsuits seems kind of an overkill and Mary Sue'ish to me in the first place, but I've let it pass for the sake of RP.
A long time ago, when IGS was just starting the RP scene was a lot smaller(and less dumb, honestly said) and the physical RP locales started popping up, we discussed about it, and it eventually led into me coming up with this ground facility on Yulai III to explain the existence of all these locations. For a long time, this just remained as a chat channel in DUST, with the RP crowd at that time agreeing to be a part of this project. Then when these locales began popping up again more frequently, I decided to revive this project and create the appropriate threads, updating the list of places included in the facility.
Would I like these rules to be enforced on other physical RP threads too? Of course. In my opinion, this makes the most sense from a lore perspective, and ensures a smooth RP environment for everyone. Do I force other people to follow these rules outside of my own thread? No, they can decide for themselves.
RP in general involves a lot of compromises, and at times people can let things slide to keep the flow of RP going. These rules can be broken, when the circumstances are fit for it. But they are there to ensure a good environment for everyone. Feel free to ignore me all you want, it's not going to change the fact that at least the most older RPers can abide to these rules within reason.
